Tips to Support the Healing Process

Self-Care Tips After Your Reiki Session

After your session, the energy will continue to work by detoxing and flushing the toxins from your body.

After a Reiki session, support your healing by drinking plenty of water, getting extra rest if needed, and taking time to reflect on any thoughts or feelings that arise.

Gentle self-care practices, such as journaling, spending time in nature, or enjoying a warm Epsom salt bath, can help you relax and integrate the benefits of your session.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Every Reiki experience is unique. While some people notice immediate shifts in their energy, mood, or overall well-being, others may experience more subtle changes that unfold over the days and weeks that follow.
  • Very few clients may experience a temporary "healing response" (such as feeling emotional or fatigued), but there isn't strong scientific evidence that these reactions are caused by Reiki itself.
  • Reiki should not replace medical care for physical or mental health conditions. If you have concerns about your health, it's important to contact a healthcare professional.

If this was your first Reiki session, it's also perfectly normal to wonder what you were "supposed" to feel. There isn't a right or wrong experience—people's responses can differ considerably.

Be gentle with yourself and trust the process. Healing is a personal journey that looks different for everyone, and it doesn't always happen in a straight line.

Each Reiki session offers an opportunity to restore balance, release what no longer serves you, and support your continued healing and growth.
